Truck deliveries in April 2012

Total deliveries from the Volvo Group’s truck operations in April amounted to 18,497 vehicles. This was a decrease of 4% compared with the year-earlier period.

Volvo Group to supply engines to airport fire-fighting vehicles

Volvo Penta is to supply engines for a number of airport fire-fighting vehicles from the company Rosenbauer. This entails a strengthening of the Volvo Group’s cooperation with Rosenbauer, which already builds conventional fire trucks using chassis from Volvo Trucks.

Helena Carén to receive the Assar Gabrielsson award for research that resulted in better diagnosis of childhood cancer

Helena Carén has studied genetic abberations in tumors and will receive the prize of SEK 50,000 for her thesis at the University of Gothenburg. Her analysis method is currently being used to find the right treatment for children in Sweden suffering from neuroblastoma, the aggressive cancer form found in children.
